Topsy-turvy proverbs

7,00

by João Manuel Ribeiro

The dictionary defines a proverb as “a phrase, or short saying, of popular origin, which summarizes a moral concept, a social norm” and which transmits common knowledge about life.

In this book, proverbs are turned upside down: they contradict the usual sense, change turns to the known, mix and get angry with each other, contradict morals and social norms and even life itself.

The proverbs in this book, even when rhymed, mess with you and turn your head… Or should I say put your head upside down?
