Author: Maria Ana Pinheiro Mendes was born in Ponte de Lima and has a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (English/German) from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. She was a teacher of English and Portuguese (2nd cycle) for several years and currently works as a librarian teacher. She has had a great passion for books since the day an uncle sat her on his lap and read her an enchanting story. From that day on, the door of the imaginary was wide open forever and she never stopped reading. The writing came soon after when, still a student in the first cycle, the teacher praised and read aloud one of her essays. She keeps several short stories in her desk drawer that, from time to time, peek through the crack and sometimes manage to jump out.
