Author: Peter Svetina (1970), as a child, was convinced that, when he grew up, he would be a detective, but he began studying medicine by chance and ended up graduating in Slovenian philology. He is a professor of Slovenian literature at the University of Klagenfurt in Austria and one of the best contemporary authors of Slovenian literature. He has signed more than thirty titles of short stories and poetry books for small and large readers. His literary work stands out for maintaining a strong connection with everyday reality, word games and a unique sense of humour, which has convinced young readers and their parents, as well as literary experts. He has been awarded the most important prizes for Slovenian children’s and youth literature, has been included in the Raven list several times and has been selected as a Slovenian candidate for ALMA. It has been translated into German, English, Korean, Lithuanian, Polish, Spanish and now into Portuguese.
