Author: My name is Agostinha Pópulo and I was born in April 1978. I live in Ermesinde, Porto. I’m married and the mother of two children, a boy aged 17 and a girl aged 6. I’m a native of Trás-os-Montes, raised among the cliffs of the municipality of Valpaços, where I lived and studied until I finished secondary school. From an early age, I cherished the idea of becoming a teacher. So I went to the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, in Chaves, where I studied for a degree in Primary School Teachers. In 2000, I entered the world of teaching and, over more than 22 years of service, my professional and human experience has grown with every flower I’ve picked in other people’s gardens. As a child, I began to cultivate a love of reading. The urgent need to express my ideas and cogitations arose when I was 13/14 years old. Since then, various works of poetry, literature and children’s literature have been born. Writing is a pleasure, it’s also a physiological need, as well as an escape from the vicissitudes of everyday life and a kind of catharsis. As I write, the broth of the emotions I’ve experienced gradually comes out of me.
