Author: Carina Novo I was born in the city of love and maybe that’s why in my house there was a lot of love, in a family where play, joy and laughter were part of the routine of the days. And, of course, the books, books that were everywhere. At the age of two I landed in Viana do Castelo where I lived surrounded by a herd of animals: dogs, cats, ducks, pigs, turkeys, birds, hamsters, sheep, rabbits and chickens, which would serve as inspiration for my stories. In my childhood I spent twice as many hours of the day playing in the street, running through the fields, jumping over the walls to go play with the neighbors, running barefoot through the streams, accumulating memories that made me a tremendously happy child, clinging to notebooks where I wrote my stories. Years later I received a Daisy and love became an inexplicable and infinite feeling. But my daughter, born in the city, did not live surrounded by animals, perhaps because of the fear she felt for dogs, a feeling that would set the tone for the theme of my first book. With her I immersed myself again in my childhood, that’s why my project «Carina Novo – Stories of reading and telling» was born. May life help me to always keep in mind the child in me and may it allow me to write many books like this and tell stories of dreaming like those I heard in my childhood.
