Author: Peter Svetina (1970) was convinced in childhood that when he grew up he would be a detective, but he started studying medicine by chance and ended up with a degree in Slovenian philology. He is a professor of Slovenian literature at the University of Klagenfurt in Austria and one of the best contemporary authors of Slovenian literature. He has written more than thirty short stories and books of poetry for small and large readers. His literary work stands out for maintaining a strong connection with everyday reality, wordplay and a unique sense of humor, which has convinced small readers and their parents, as well as literary experts. It has been awarded the most important Slovenian children’s and youth literature prizes, has been included on the Raven list several times and was selected as a Slovenian candidate for ALMA. It has been translated into German, English, Korean, Lithuanian, Polish, Spanish and now Portuguese.
