And for the poet, another way of looking brings together «ten years of poetry by one of the most prolific Portuguese writers of the newest generation», presenting «a set of texts that allow us to foresee not only some of the differentiating marks of the author’s writing, but also, inevitably, the personal taste of those who made this selection or this form of intertextual editing by reinserting “old” texts into a “new set”».

«These «very different poems», which are also those now gathered here, in this volume, which has a beautiful visual composition of plural authorship, reflect, we believe, how significant the place of poetry is in the literary production of João Manuel Ribeiro».

«(…) The structure of this anthology is based on ten nuclei, namely: childhood; love; grandfather; house; bicycle; animals; flowers, fruits and trees; letters and numbers; science; humor and irony. Thus, for each of these, two poetic texts are presented that recreate the themes enunciated in different ways. As a general rule, briefly and showing an attractive musical and melodic dimension, in these we can also see a vocabulary and sentence conciseness, as well as the use of strategies such as repetition (sometimes anaphoric), onomatopoeia, phonetic games and humor, as we have been suggesting. Light marks of narrativity, the use of direct speech and the first person verbal, the living interpellation of the receiver, the expressive adjective, the metaphor or the personification also demarcate the poems by João Manuel Ribeiro that this anthology holds, making them visibly close to the child reader and their tastes.» (Sara Reis na Silva, in the Afterword)

This anthology has the illustration of: Anabela Dias Ana Lúcia Pinto Catarina Gomes Catarina Pinto Constança Araújo Amador Fedra Santos Gabriela Sotto Mayor João Vaz de Carvalho Bolota Ricardo Rodrigues Sara Cunha. Selection and afterword by Sara Reis da Silva
